Product Description Maurice Ousley seems to have it all: his team captures first place after a gutsy win before All-Star Break, he's voted by the coaches to the NBA All-Star Game, and he plans a cozy evening with his girlfriend Gabrielle to pop the question. However, the evening begins to unravel as Maurice finds out about a dark secret that Gabrielle has hidden from him. He subsequently leaves her at the restaurant once the truth is revealed. He then goes to a party hosted by one of the All-Star basketball players to blow off some steam. There he meets a stunningly attractive actress and finds out that she has a huge crush on him. Finally, Maurice caps off the evening by small talking to some of his teammates, and his best friend on the squad drops another bombshell on him. Just when the night couldn't get any worse, he discovers he's also the target of the same federal fugitive who kidnapped his stepfather a year prior. Will Maurice leave Gabrielle for the actress, or will he stay with her? What news does his teammate tell him? And lastly, will Maurice survive, or will his past finally catch up to him?

Gripping Thriller with a Suprise Ending July 15, 2010 Gayle Tiller (San Jose, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
"The Moment of Truth" is a gripping, urban thriller with a surprise ending. You'll be shocked.
I read the entire book in one sitting. I couldn't stop reading, because I was so into the characters and the story. With each chapter, the author brilliantly entices the reader with new drama.
The best part of the book is the dialogue. It reminded me of dialogue from HBO series "The Wire." It is gritty, yet true-to-life.
You'll definitely want to add "The Moment of Truth" to your must-reads.
A riveting work, well worth considering July 8, 2010 Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
One's life can turn upside down at the blink of an eye. "The Moment of Truth" tells the tale of Maurice Ousley as he's faced with a Hollywood crush, a crippled relationship, and how he has a target on his head from criminals. The pressure builds as he's faced with his own All-Star basketball game on top of it all. "The Moment of Truth" is a riveting work, well worth considering.
Horrible June 25, 2010 Fulcrcle This was the most boring story ever. Believe me it was only worth 99 cents and I still want my money back!
The Moment of Truth May 14, 2010 Lori Caswell (FALL RIVER, WI) Maurice (Mo) Ousley has been trying to escape his past, he is a NBA star, has a beautiful girlfriend, great teammates, a family who loves him, but he is about to go through the worst hours of life. First a secret in his girlfriend's past is revealed and he doesn't know how to deal with it. Then he is kidnapped while leaving a wild party and he is right back in the middle of the past he is trying to escape. His old gang wants some gold Mo's real dad stole years ago and they expect Mo to find out where it's hidden. He has spoken to the man in twenty years. They just night let me live after he leads them to the gold.
3 stars it was Just O.K.
The story was suspenseful, a little confusing at times. I like basketball but that is just a small background to the story. There is the normal slang language between the gang members and the players. It is a short, fast read. I could see it as an episode of a television show, like Criminal Minds.
