| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Sparked by her long search for inspiration in her life and work, Gail McMeekin has worked closely with some of today's most highly creative women for her one-of-a-kind guide to maximizing creative energy. "For many women," she writes, "breaking free of our societal and psychological chains is a prerequisite to truly creating a life that expresses our genuineness and uniqueness." The dynamic women sharing their secrets for the first time include Sarah Ban Breathnach, who channeled her creativity into the book she was "born to write" (the best-selling Simple Abundance); interior designer Chris Madden; and software tycoon Brenda Laurel. From interviews and conversations, McMeekin distilled the common themes in these innovators' lives and work into practices any woman can use.

Female Creative Inspiration and Motivation July 7, 2010 G.M. (Los Angeles, CA) 12 Secrets Of Highly Creative Women: A Portable Mentor by Gail McMeekin is a wonderful gem for women to find inspiration in their creative goals and also how to find the creative woman in themselves. I have had this book for the last two years and keep it by my writer's desk when I need a little guidance and inspiration when I feel blocked in my creative self expression. Women entrepeneurs, writers, artists, activists and leaders throughout the book give insightful stories on their creative journey as well as quotes from famous women to help you through your creative process and help you find your authentic self.
Something to Get Ideas From July 6, 2010 L. Lesser (Amherst, MA) I bought this book as a way to help induce ideas for me career-wise and entreprenurship-wise. However, after reading Corporate Creativity (Robinson) and taking a course on high performance idea innovation, I was a bit disappointed. I do believe that these components set my expectations higher. It is a fast read and allows for useful tidbits, but it is mostly things that everyone already knows. Not really secrets!
Good Quality Paper and Print April 27, 2010 Mark Emdee (USA, California) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
It's easy to read because the pages are much whiter than most books, and the print is dark.
If You Need Professional Encouragement March 14, 2010 DJ (South Carolina) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book contains stories of women who capitalized on their creativity and succeeded. If you want to start a business with your art, this is a collection of women who will encourage you to do that.
A good rounded resource for information on getting going again. March 9, 2010 Ramona Kuhn 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm just getting started with this book - but I can tell it is one I'll keep around and use for inspiration.
