Learn to Manipulate People July 23, 2010 Jesse This book will help you become a master of manipulation while making other people think your arrogant.
Not All It's cracked Up To Be July 3, 2010 Nancy B. Driscoll (North Carolina USA) Despite the hype generated by the cult following behind NLP, you won't find much in it that's all that different from other self-help material out there. It goes over most of the same stuff that other self-help disciplines do, such as setting goals, visualizing yourself being successful, listening as opposed to talking in order to establish good communication, using rapport to build good relationships with people, making other people a part of your goals, etc. I gave this book two stars because some of the techniques are genuinely unique, such as reframing. However, I still find nothing in this book that warrants calling NLP "the evolution in human cognition and intelligence." While the techniques in this book fall under the so-called phenomenon of Nerou-Linguistic Programming, it would be a wild exaggeration to say that this book will teach you to program your mind to exhibit actions and feelings that you want to do and feel, as some one would program a computer, as both the name and claims of this book would suggest. What you can expect, are some exercises in creative visualization that will help you put some difficult areas of your life in perspective. What you can not expect, is a magic switch that will automatically turn the creative and positive facets of your mind on, while magically turning the self-defeating facets of your mind off. If you are interested in NLP, you should recognize it for what it is, which is an amalgamation of all the existing self-help material out there, with some already well known psychological theory thrown in. Also, don't be fooled by the unique sounding technical terms that the authors throws in. These are well known pychological phenomenon that have been disguised with "NLP-esque" sounding names. Examples include "anchoring" (conditioning), and "parts" (subconscioussness.)
Keep in mind that the impression I got from NLP was made by this book. The material produced by NLPs so-called founders, Bandler and Grinder, may contain more original and more helpful material.
NLP Los Angeles LANLP Training uses this book! June 23, 2010 john santangelo This NLP book review covers the topic of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), is based on the concept that all language and behaviors are of a highly structured nature. It uses methods and an attitude to affect the way we think, learn and communicate.
NLP: The New Technology of Achievement, by NLP Comprehensive, is an IN-valuable resource for anyone interested in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).
